Mission Accomplished

Our quarterly primary activity went off with out a hitch this morning! We had a summer camp-in to prepare for our ward camp-out in July. We had a singalong, first-aid hut, nature preserve (craft), and a cave of wonder where the kids went through a dark obstacle course. They got glow sticks at the end which they loved. We sat in the mostly dark and told the kids that the way we had come in was blocked and there was no way out of the cave. We found a trap door on the ceiling but we couldn't all get out, some would have to stay behind to lift the others out. Then we shone a light on a picture of the Savior below the trap door and told them that no one would have to stay behind because the Savior had already made the sacrifice for us. Then we had some trail mix and the activity was over. Now I just have to get sharing time ready for tomorrow...

The kids decorated picture frames and then we glued on a picture of Christ (it's a pass-along card)
The boys finished decorating and played tag while the girls worked away on their frames.
They were practicing "Stop, drop, and roll" from our fire safety lesson!
Family fun
A nurse from the ward came in and did a first aid presentation

singing around the campfire (sticks and poster board)

Sounds like a really fun activity! Wish Andrew could have come to it! Are you still enjoying primary?
