Mission Accomplished
Our quarterly primary activity went off with out a hitch this morning! We had a summer camp-in to prepare for our ward camp-out in July. We had a singalong, first-aid hut, nature preserve (craft), and a cave of wonder where the kids went through a dark obstacle course. They got glow sticks at the end which they loved. We sat in the mostly dark and told the kids that the way we had come in was blocked and there was no way out of the cave. We found a trap door on the ceiling but we couldn't all get out, some would have to stay behind to lift the others out. Then we shone a light on a picture of the Savior below the trap door and told them that no one would have to stay behind because the Savior had already made the sacrifice for us. Then we had some trail mix and the activity was over. Now I just have to get sharing time ready for tomorrow...
The kids decorated picture frames and then we glued on a picture of Christ (it's a pass-along card)
The boys finished decorating and played tag while the girls worked away on their frames.
They were practicing "Stop, drop, and roll" from our fire safety lesson!
Family fun

A nurse from the ward came in and did a first aid presentation

Night at the hospital
Don't worry, no one is sick or injured, Dave and I had a date night at the hospital. Usually when do this we will meet in the cafeteria or we will hang out in the break room of the service he is on. Dave made a great discovery yesterday though. Normally the on call rooms have uncomfortable beds, are high traffic, and loud. Dave found 2 call rooms up at Huntsman (Huntsman Cancer hospital-they are connected) that had nicer beds, were in the middle of no where (quiet), and had a TV and DVD player! So we hung out in the call room for several hours. Well I hung out for several hours, Dave was in and out about 10 times doing work but it was fun to have a little time together smooshed on a twin bed watching Family Guy, and Shanghai Noon. Before we knew it, it was 9pm and we were hungry so I went on a dinner run. I brought Dave some food and then headed home. It was a nice night.

All I can say is wow...
I can't believe that Kris Allen won American Idol, I totally thought it was going to be Adam. I think Adam was the better singer but even though he didn't win the good news is that they both have great careers ahead of them!
Funny Story...I think
So, tonight being the American Idol final reminds me of last year's grand event. I had faithfully watched the entire season, debated over the candidates with my co-workers and all in all I was INVESTED in the show. The big night came and I was doing something at the start of the show so I started to play it back on our DVR. There was definite tension, which David would win??? I was hoping for Cook but Archuleta was great too. The moment had come and Ryan says, "The winner is..." and no-joke my DVR STOPPED, the recording had ended! Dave knew something was wrong when I started to freak out/scream. I told him my dilema and he said look it up online or call someone!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Look it up online after all I had been through with this show. This was the worst night of my life (j/k, i wish)! So I called someone, Elly maybe...I can't remember and got the result. I was scared by that little piece of technology so tonight I will be watching live or setting the DVR to record the next show too. I hope you all can watch AI tonight too, if you want to of course.

Do you love free stuff?
OK! So this is how this works…The first five people to respond to this post will receive something made by me for you. My choice made especially for you. Of course there are some restrictions and limitations:
1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make! (Of course, I will try to make something that I think you would like.)
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It will be done sometime this year.
4. You have no clue what it will be… it may be a story. It may be poetry or an article on properly cleaning your face before a masque. I may draw or paint something. I may bake something and mail it to you. Who knows? Not you, that’s for sure.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange. (This could be fun :)
6. I will send it anywhere! It doesn’t matter where you live!
The catch? The catch is that you must repost this on your own blog and offer the same to the first 5 people who do the same on their blog. The first five people to do so and leave a comment telling me they did will win a FAB-U-LOUS homemade gift by me!!
(I am continuing this from Holly's blog... I agree, its a good idea)

Thanks Mom!
After having some pain in my #9 tooth (front left) I went to see my dentist and he took an x-ray and told me I had an abscessed tooth (gross) and that I would need a root canal. I scheduled the appointment... My mom was in town so I brought her up to speed on the tooth situation and she lovingly told me I wasn't going to have a root canal done by a general dentist :) So I called an endodontist I had seen before and luckily they had an appointment open today. I went in this morning planning on getting my 1st root canal or dental procedure ever (excluding cleanings and wisdom teeth extraction). The endodontist took his own x-ray and did a cold test on my teeth and said I didn't need root canal!!! It was the best news I got all day. Thanks for making me get a second opinion mom!

And the destination is...

South Carolina! We thought we were headed to Belize this summer but have had a change of plans. We are excited to get back to the east coast since it will have been a year since we moved. We are flying into Charleston, SC and will be staying in Litchfield with friends Coray and Anya. There is nothing finer than the Carolina coast so I definitely can't wait to relax on the beach and get in a dive trip or two. I hope you get to go vacation this summer...

Congrats Beckaboo!

Last weekend was busy but a blast. Friday after work I headed to Temple Square and the Conference Center with my mom and Gerald to see the sites (the flowers were gorgeous), then went to dinner with the Petty's (family friends from TX) at Market Street Grill. Next we left for Logan in the rain. We met Becky and Jeff (the BF) at the hotel and got to catch up for a bit. Saturday morning we got ready and headed to the Spectrum for Commencement and Convocation. Most people don't like graduations but I thought it was a lot of fun! We were starving so after a few pictures we had lunch at Hamilton's and it was AMAZING! If you're everin Logan you have to go. Anyway, so then Becky and I took a nap. After we woke up we went to dinner (even though we were still stuffed from lunch) at Coppermill. I wanted to stay and party but I had to get back to SL for 9am Church so I drove home. It was a packed but fun Saturday, Congrats Becky!
Sunday seemed just as busy, Chuch, made cupcakes for a work party, dinner in Midway, Quiddler and Eye to Eye, back to SL, a few work emails, and bed...
Now it's Monday...I think I get to see Dave today
