Anyone see Oprah yesterday?
Although I disagree with many of Oprah's perspectives her show yesterday brought a little gratitude to my heart. Her show was about unforgettable dads. One Segment featured a single dad of 9, a man whose wife died shortly after giving birth, and one of a single mom whose son only met his dad once before he was killed in Iraq. I couldn't help but cry as I saw those sad stories and thought about how fragile life is. Yesterday I also found out that a woman at work's sweet 4 year old daughter Kendra had died after a year long struggle with Leukemia. The responsibility of sending flowers, collecting donations, choosing a card, and sending the obituary fell on me so I couldn't help but be consumed with thoughts of life and death and questions of recovery. How do you go on with your life without those you love? I can't imagine overcoming such great losses but I know that it's possible through faith in Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father's plan. The greatest thoughts on my mind have been to live with gratitude and cherish those we love. I hope I can be more content with my life and look out of my tiny little world and see what I can do for others...

What a sweet post. I haven't watched that Oprah yet, but it's on my DVR. I'm sure I'll be in tears. Everything like that is more sensitive...especially when you have kids you love so much yourself in your life. Great reminder about how fragile life is!
what a nice post Jangel! I'm grateful for those little reminders that help put life into perspective and fill me with gratitude and a better way of looking at things!
I am sad to hear that her daughter died. Is she OK? That must be hard. It makes me very grateful for everything in my life. Even the small things.
